Is a lack of anything to do a blessing or a curse, I can\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t decide. I should say that it isn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t that I don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t have ANYTHING to do just a lack of enthusiasm or initiative to do it.\u00c2\u00a0 How many times have you said \u00e2\u20ac\u201c I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m bored?\u00c2\u00a0 In my life I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve said it too many times to count, and right now is just like all the others. There is no known cure for boredom, it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s not like you can take a pill and not be bored anymore. Something has to happen some cosmic shift sets events in motion and VOILA \u00e2\u20ac\u201c you\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re busy and not bored anymore.<\/p>\n

When I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m bored all the \u00e2\u20ac\u0153usual\u00e2\u20ac\u009d things I like to do just don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t do it for me, like reading or surfing the net or listening to music, it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s like I get into some bizarre funk where all joy has vanished, sucked into some odd abyss. I tend to get lethargic and sit like a blob whether at home or at work and just stare blankly at my screen.\u00c2\u00a0 It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s at times like these I wish I could draw or paint even in my boredom funks I can\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t string together a whole sentence so writing is usually out of the question.<\/p>\n

Sometimes I wonder, get restless and everyone at home asks \u00e2\u20ac\u0153what are you doing?\u00e2\u20ac\u009d To which I have to answer, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m bored.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d\u00c2\u00a0 Everyone has their own list of things that they need to do and think magically if you do chores you won\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t be bored anymore. WHO WANTS TO DO CHORES when you\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re bored? I DON\u00e2\u20ac\u2122T.\u00c2\u00a0 I guess right now it would seem from my description that boredom is a curse. HOWEVER,<\/p>\n

There have been many occasions that boredom has brought me to places I may not have gone if I weren\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t bored, people I have reconnected with, sometimes being bored keeps me in touch with friends and family. Writing ideas have come to me when I was bored even though the words weren\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t set to paper until the boredom was alleviated.<\/p>\n

My dog really benefits from my boredom because when I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m bored I often take him for a walk \u00e2\u20ac\u201c although now that he\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s older he doesn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t want to go out as frequently \u00e2\u20ac\u201c especially in the winter months.\u00c2\u00a0 Boredom has forced me to pick up my camera and go shooting, it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s forced me into theatres to see movies and I guess for those reasons I could consider boredom a blessing.<\/p>\n

I can feel some energy returning from this mini boredom stupor which writhing this post has helped alleviate so I guess today boredom was a blessing?<\/p>\n
