So last Friday I didn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t see a movie. That is becoming too regular. I like my movies and the change of environment and even though I am hella broke it is totally worth it (most of the time) even if the movie is bad.<\/p>\n
But this is a sort of an off season for movies. The summer blockbusters have gone by, the Oscar contenders are trickling out, and the Christmas dump has not happened yet. Plus a lot of those Oscar contenders are in limited release and I won\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t get to see them at my local theatre I would have to track them down.<\/p>\n
Now this Friday Avatar is coming out. And I will be seeing it. I have a bad feeling it is not going to be very good just very pretty but still all the hype has gotten to me I think. Well even before I saw a preview for it I knew I would be seeing it. It is James Cameron and Sigourney Weaver and a new technology and a distant planet and big blue aliens. How could I say no to that? I just hope it is not too disappointing.<\/p>\n
The only movie related thing I did was make a mix disc for my friend based on movies. It is not something I do regularly but when I do I take it very seriously. It was actually requested based on the last disc I did which had a food theme. The songs were chosen if they were about food or had a food in the title or the band name was a food. I was surprised how many food songs I had. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Eat Me\u00e2\u20ac\u009d, that\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s what I called the compilation, included Cake \u00e2\u20ac\u201c Sheep go to Heaven, Japancakes \u00e2\u20ac\u201c Elevator Music, Weezer \u00e2\u20ac\u201c Pork and Beans, Beastie Boys \u00e2\u20ac\u201c 5 Piece Chicken Dinner, and the song that started it all Paul Young and Streetband \u00e2\u20ac\u201c Toast.<\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Moving Pictures\u00e2\u20ac\u009d, this new collection, has songs that are either off a sound track or the title of the song is the name of a movie. I had tons of songs to choose from but putting together something that works was the hard part. There had to be a flow to the disc. When I put a disc together I like it to be like a wave; the songs start high, then mellow, then back up, and then mellow out at the end. This isn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t as easy as it sounds. It took me about 3 hours from beginning to end to complete. I had to find the songs that meet the criteria, choose the songs and then put them in order. I think I did a great job with the 21 songs I chose.<\/p>\n
