Purple Valentine

I haven’t been doing my nails much this year. It is a combination of lack of time and tired/laziness. My polish collection is still steadily getting larger (thanks Julep) but I have not been putting them to good use.

This week I put an end to that. Had a perusal of my plethora of colours and was very happy there was a theme that I could follow making my design choice easy.

Valentines day is tomorrow and for this week why not go with that? Pink, and red, and hearts. Easy-peasy. But I decided to switch it up a little. I went with purple valentine.

For a person who is out of practice I think I did pretty good.

The object this week is a Valentine. OHHH SCANDAL! A friend gave it to me as a very nice gesture. I haven’t had one given to me since grade school. It’s no “choo-choo-choose you” but I am as sweet as icing so it’ll do.

This was a super easy look to do using 6 polishes and a dotting tool. I did the stripes and heart free hand and on the white nail that is just part of the glitter so I just had to brush it on.

White – L’Oreal Steel Colour 910 “Seeing Spots”

Red -Rimmel Lasting Finish Pro 375 “Stiletto Red”

Dark purple – Gosh 541 “Gasoline”

Lavender – Julep “London”

Sparkle – Julep “Hartleigh”

Top/base coat – Rimmel Lasting finish Pro Base/Top Coat

So that may have been the first time I did my nails for the year but it wasn’t the first time they were done for the year. A couple weeks ago a friend of mine insisted that she get a crack at my nails since I hadn’t been doing them. I said fine. She picked the colours and worked her magic.

Pretty great, right? I don’t know what she used I didn’t pay much attention until after she was done and then I was all like :0. She did it all free had and quickly. Full disclosure, she used to work in a nail salon so she has all the tricks down packed.

I am holding another toy from my desk, the collection keeps getting bigger. This is Huckle the Cat from Richard Scarry series.

That is all the nail news for now.
