So You Think You Can be Memorable?

OMG – Did you see it?

Some people just don’t care and some people are a little too into it while others – like myself find it entertaining enough to watch it but aren’t heart broken if we miss it. Even though I found myself glad I got to watch it last night. So You Think You Can Dance, Some one in their infinite brilliance decided to have Ellen Degeneres on the show last night. No, that wasn’t a slight – because I truly like Ellen and find her thoroughly amusing, while she admits herself she knows nothing about dance her
comedic commentary added a great element to the show.

I found all of the couples’ numbers strong and entertaining from the top 8 dancers the one that captured me, along with anyone else with a heart was the second dance from Melissa and Ade a Contemporary piece by Tyce Diorio. They danced to ‘A woman’s work’ by Maxwell and let me just say it totally transcended the movement of dance into pure emotion. The dance was a testimonial to Breast Cancer. Melissa was gorgeous, her interpretation was so authentic and brought you to a place of realism. You knew this woman, you felt her pain, her agony and frustration, her fear, all the while Ade was a pillar of strength and comfort, the one person who could be counted on to be there, to catch her, to guide her, to try and protect her. If you get the chance you should definitely watch it however you can. You will not be sorry. I am not a total softy but here I will admit that this piece was so touching and real it brought a few tears to my eyes, along with the panel of judges and the entire audience, not only because this issue has touched my life but because the beauty and emotion they were able to portray was astounding.
