MaGic Monday

I’ve been thinking about this perpetual “hate on” everyone seems to have for Monday and I’m left wondering why? I know, I know – its the beginning of the work week but so what? Without a beginning how can there be an end? No Mondays would ultimately mean no fridays, no? I happen to like Mondays and not for the reason my friends would like to have you believe – that I’m a freak. I like them because – yes, I have to go to work but at work I get to socialize with people I like and don’t see on the weekend. I usually get up early and get a quiet morning walking with my dog and enjoy the peace and quiet, not to  mention the weather when it’s nice. Mondays bring another round of lunch time phone calls from friends and chats on messenger and they always brighten my day. Of course these are just a few of the reasons why I happen to like mondays.

I know you are thinking that if mondays were abolished we could so easily jump into tuesday. Well, to that I say that monday by any other name would still be a monday. And just think if there were no mondays would that anyone born on the day wouldn’t have been? What about all the good things that happened on a monday? Would they have happened if that time wasn’t around? What about all the sport fans and the Monday night football and the ubiquitous Hockey Night in Canada? Surely for you, those are reasons to enjoy Monday. And Lastly?  Well okay maybe not lastly .. entirely.. but what about those people who get Mondays off? Would you begrudge them their day off? So lets try to enjoy monday because it doesnt look like it’s going anywhere anytime soon.
