Woman arrested for drowning friend in Lemonade!

Although this isn’t actually a real news title it could have been, in this mornings paper.

It all started Sunday. I woke up and was asked to send our good friend Tra a text message.“Send your recipe for your “Trini” fudge or come over and help us make some.” Now what you gotta know about Tracey is that she loves to sleep well that’s probably because she loves to stay up late but I digress. Hence the text and not a phone call, but lo a behold she calls me back 5-10 mins later. Tra is NOT a morning person and can get a little cranky when awaken.  She begrudgingly agreed to be ready in an hour for me to pick her up so she could help make her fudge – which by the way is fantastic! – Anyway. We stop at the store get a few missing ingredients and make it back to my place. We make the fudge she helps with the Christmas tree and then it’s time for me to drive her home because I have to start to get ready for work.

I was asked to stop at a store to pick up some cigarettes by Steve on my excursion so I did that before I hit the highway. We pull in to the rabba up the street by the mall. I offer to buy her a drink because we didn’t feed her or anything when she came over which we usually do but this time we didn’t – so anyway. I was looking for something different so I decided on lemonade while she decided to get a chocolate milk. I pay for the purchase and we’re back in the car heading for the highway. I break open my lemonade and take a sip. I announce that It tasted a little off and she blurts out “what do you expect you’re drinking lemon juice” Well if that wasn’t the funniest thing I’ve heard – or so you would have thought by how hard I was laughing – but here’s the kicker – just before she said that I managed to take another drink and my mouth was full of lemonade I was swallowing some and she goes and makes me laugh. Well, obviously I start to choke as the “lemon juice, ade” makes it’s way down my esophagus to my lungs – all while I was driving. I was coughing, laughing and choking all at the same time –I couldn’t catch my breath and I couldn’t stop laughing. I had to pull over to the side of the road off the main road where it took me maybe five minutes to gather myself back to a state where I could breath normally and drive. Now I don’t know what it was that struck me as so funny but Tra does seem to have this amazing ability to say the most mundane things in a way that I find hysterical – don’t ask me how or why but it just does … so I finally get her home and she said .. what  – I suppose you’re going to tell everyone that I tried to kill you and I was all like – “YES” – That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
