What the…

When I started working last Monday one of the first things I noticed was a few odd things at my desk. Maybe it wasn’t the first thing; it was the first 5 things.

1. A wine glass that was being used as a vase. This is fine, when given flowers a person sometimes has to improvise. But the thing is it looked like they had been there for about a month. There was just a small amount of brown putrid water with brown lines indicating the waters evaporation. In the glass were 2 dried flowers. They were shriveled in such a way that it looked like they had been subject to cruel torture and a horrific death. Needless to say it was immediately disposed off.

2. A fork. It was, and still is, stuck in the pen holder amongst pens, markers, and a ruler, prongs up. I don’t know why it is there and I haven’t moved it. It looks clean so it doesn’t bother me too much. But every once in a while I glance over and it catches my eye.

3. An almost full bottle of soy sauce. But it is not just any soy sauce. it is “100% naturally brewed organic soy sauce”. I really have no idea why anyone would need organic soy sauce (from Middletown New York) at a reception desk but there it is. I have no idea what to do with it. So it sits there for the day when someone passes by and asks if I happen to have some spare soy sauce around.

4. All purpose surface cleaner. That in itself isn’t odd. it is the fact that it is mango/tangerine. First off it doesn’t smell anything like mango/tangerine. It has a generic anti-septic citrus smell that is particularly harsh to the senses. Second I wouldn’t want my surfaces to smell like mango/tangerine. That would just make me feel hungry.

5. Last is this.

I don’t know what this is. It is a small, clear, bird-ish shaped thingy, with a big nose, a pony tail, and a very small die inside. I just don’t get it. It makes no sense to me. When I have nothing to do I just sit and stare at it contemplating its existence. Who came up with it? What is it for? How many were made? The only identifying marks on it is an imprint on the bottom, “2S-47”. What does THAT mean? There are just so many questions. If you can provide clarification, please do.

Anyways, those are the odd things on my desk. While I am here most likely I will add to the list. I tend to craft things when I am bored.

I believe that last thing is a key chain – one that the former receptionist wretched out of the hand of the lady who denied her loan. The cleaner is to remove any evidence (the DNA kind) off anywhere she has been so that when said lady is harassed by the devil, it wont be linked back to her. Furthermore, the flowers indicate that the devil has been there. Dont step into the elevator. The fork was retrieved from the lady’s eyeball and wiped clean with the cleaner. TA-DAH ! SCREENPLAY!
