I got a few minutes

So I am writing this while I am on vacation. Why? Because I didn’t get the last 2 posts I wanted to before I left. I was just busy getting ready for my trip both at home and at work.

At home I had to shop, clean, and pack. You would think that wouldn’t take up all of my time but it did. It was really all the cleaning I was doing. Cuz since I moved I just didn’t have a chance to find places for things. The I decided to have a get together at my house the day before I left and that put on the pressure. I actually ended up packing for the trip the morning of the day I  left. I took about 2 hours and I think I forgot things but I haven’t come across what yet. So I guess they weren’t too important. I will cross that hurdle when I get to it.

Anyways, The 2 posts I wanted to do was about Alex Trebek, cuz his birthday was coming up (it’s today actually) and the other was about the country I was going to, my home country, Trinidad. Now I am going to combine the 2 posts into 1 post in 2 short parts.

Happy Birthday Alex Trebek

Most people I know, know I love Jeopardy and I have a strange obsession (that might be a bit strong but I can’t think of another word riight now) with Mr. Trebek.  So here is some info about him.

His birth date is July 22 1940

This year that would  make him 69 years old.

He made his first TV appearance in 1973 on an episode of a show called ‘Dinah’s Place’. A show that I know absolutely nothing about.

He has been doing Jeopardy since 1984 (I believe) but had been the host of numerous game shows before then.

And Since being the host of Jeopardy he has been in a number of tv shows and in movies. Most often appearing as himself. Including and episode of the X-Files, The Simpsons, Seinfield, and White Men Can’t Jump.

It’s a Tropical Paradise

So this year I am taking a long vacation in my home country. I am going to be here  for a month for my cousins wedding and to catch up with the rest of my family. Also while I am here I will be exposed to the culture and the visually stunning landscape.

Trinidad and Tobago are located off the east coast of Venezuela in the West Indies.

The 2 islands form a republic that gained independence from the United Kingdom on August 31 1962.

There estimated population as of 2005 was around 1.3 million people.

The country is lush and green will a lot of locally grown produce including coconut, pineapple, mangoes, guava, and bananas.

The islands are know for introducing the world to the only new instrument in the 20th century, the steelpan.

Carnival is one of the other reasons why the world knows Trinidad. It is one of  the most festive in the world.

Well that is it for today. I have to go back to enjoying my vacation. If the posts are sporadic blame Nel. He was supposed to take responsibility for it.
