Nailed It!

The title of this post is also the title of the new category that I mentioned I would be starting.

And no it is not about my achievements (there aren’t enough for a whole category) but they are about nails. Finger nails. Pretty painted ones. You would know this if you had read the updated “About” page.

As a reader of this site you know I am not an overly “girly” individual. But for people who know me personally they do know that nail polish is one of my girly vices. It is not that I see doing my nails as a way to make myself more feminine but more of an artistic outlet that I enjoy. Sometimes the schemes I come up with aren’t particularly pretty just kinda fun or wacky.

I have a substantial polish collection that I utilize on average once a week. And that is almost never 1 colour that would be way too boring. On average it is 2 – 8 colours depending on what I am trying to do. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t but I have fun doing it.

For the effort I put in it is not acknowledged enough so I thought I would use this as an outlet to share this side of my “creativity”. So here we go.

Don't judge me on my photography, I haven't figured out how to take a pleasing picture of my own hand yet. I know this looks a bit awkward.

So for the first coloured application of the year I went with something simple and relatively easy. Colour blocked nails. If you have tape and 2 nail polishes then you can achieve this look. I used Rimmel Lasting finish Pro Base coat, (370)Wild Orchid and (430)Black Satin.
