I know recently I have only been posting “Nailed It!” articles but I promise to you that I will be posting other things next week as well.
As it is the first official week of spring I decided to pay homage to this primaveral time. The birds return, the flowers grow, the temp rises, and everything seems brand new. Ah yes, the wonders of spring.
Do you see the flowers and that cute little ladybug? I was actually really surprised how well the whole thing came out. I thought it was going to be a bit much (aka a complete disaster) but it is simply lovely. And that is not just from me all the way up on my high horse, no, I have had many very nice comments about them from friends and strangers. One person even thought my nails were fake cuz they looked too good to be real. What a compliment! I should try these slightly outlandish themed nails more often.
The object I am daintily caressing in my hand is a mini bottle of tequila. It was a gift my brother brought back from his trip to Mexico last year. It is only to be opened in case of emergency. This week I used 8 polishes on my nails. Yes, 8.
Base/Top coat – Rimmel Lasting Finish Pro
Blue – UO Nail Lacquer “Crowded”
Red – Rimmel Lasting Finish Pro (375) “Stiletto Red”
Dark Red – Rimmel Lasting Finish Pro (390) “Burgundy Flirt” – You may not be able to tell but on the index and middle fingers the red flower is made up of 2 different reds. I did streaks of dark red and then put the lighter red on top in shorter strokes.
Black – Rimmel Lasting finish Pro (430) “Black Satin”
Yellow – Sephora X Neon “Obnoxious” – I know last week I complained about this polish but I used it anyways. Lets hope with the base coat and another colour beneath it it won’t leave my nail all jaundiced looking again.
Detailing – Sally Hansen Nail Art Pen “Black” and “White”
